Cohesity has embraced agentic AI with the launch of Cohesity Maestro, opening its full Data Cloud suite — including cyber resilience operations, real-time telemetry, autonomous agents and Nvidia-powered Cohesity Gaia enterprise search engine — for agent-driven access via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
The solution delivers a headless architecture, enabling AI agents to execute core Cohesity operations, ingest telemetry and access data assets without relying on the native Cohesity interface. Following Salesforce’s headless CRM innovation, Cohesity brings this modern architectural shift to data security and protection, allowing external AI agents to fully command its platform via open standards.
“Claude, Gemini and GPT already run daily enterprise operations, with rapidly evolving capabilities. Cohesity Maestro grants these mainstream AI platforms direct access to our data protection features, with no new consoles or workflow overhauls required. This is industry-first headless data protection,” said Cohesity CEO Sanjay Poonen.
Cohesity Maestro natively integrates with standardized enterprise AI stacks including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT and Google Gemini, requiring no custom development or proprietary connectors. Its open design preserves AI stack flexibility and tool choice for enterprises.
IT and security teams can query 24-hour environmental changes, identify prioritized business-critical risks and recovery gaps, and trigger threat hunting, data restoration and recovery orchestration directly within existing AI tools, eliminating constant console switching.
Maestro unlocks full Cohesity Data Cloud capabilities for AI agent workflows, covering four core modules: comprehensive cyber resilience orchestration for protection, restoration, reporting and threat hunting; real-time operational and security telemetry for custom AI intelligence layers; Cohesity Gaia’s metadata-rich semantic data search (for eligible customers); and native AI agents including conversational Copilot and automated RecoveryAgent, with more agents in development.
Cohesity’s existing agentic tools lay the foundation for the new platform: 2024’s Copilot enabled natural-language data protection administration, while 2025’s RecoveryAgent replaced manual runbooks with intelligent automated cyber recovery.
Tailored for custom enterprise AI workflows, Maestro fits seamlessly into bespoke model and dashboard stacks, enforced by the platform’s consistent role-based access, authentication and audit governance framework.
Cohesity Copilot, RecoveryAgent and Gaia MCP support are generally available now. The full Maestro MCP interface and additional new agents are slated for release later this year, with early access applications open.
